The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS) was established in 2013, based on the related disciplines from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the College of Life Sciences. SPS is located on the west campus of Guizhou University, with a building area of 20,000 square meters. The school plays an important role in cultivating pharmaceutical talents and conducting drug research in Guizhou Province.

  SPS enrolls students worldwide and has a comprehensive undergraduate and graduate education system. Guided by the needs of regional economic and social development, the school covers two disciplines: science and engineering. It currently offers two undergraduate programs in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Engineering, as well as master's degree programs in these areas. Currently, the school has over 600 undergraduate students and more than 170 master's students. The employment rate of graduates from the school has always been above 98%, and the postgraduate admission rate is over 50%.

  SPS has developed a high-level experimental and practical platform, which includes a provincial key laboratory and an innovative drug research platform, equipped with assets valued at approximately 35 million yuan. SPS has established teaching teams in medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmaceutics, and pharmacology. There are 50 faculty and staff members, including 35 full-time teachers, 32 of whom hold doctoral degrees. Among the full-time teachers, 15 hold professor titles. There are 54 master's supervisors, forming a high-level academic research team.

  SPS places great importance on enhancing scientific research capabilities and academic standards. It has been approved to establish the Guizhou Engineering Laboratory for Synthetic Drugs, which provides an advanced technical platform for drug research and development. Currently, the faculty are leading numerous national and provincial research projects and are actively engaged in industry-university-research collaborations with several pharmaceutical companies. To better serve the local community, SPS has established joint training bases and off-campus practice sites in collaboration with local pharmaceutical companies.

The school will focus on innovative drug research, leverage the advantages of Guizhou's ethnic medicine, and utilize the university's overall strengths. We will actively establish improved teaching and research platforms, build outstanding teaching and research teams, and strive to become a high-level pharmaceutical talent education base with distinctive characteristics.
